B/L (Bill of Lading): A document issued by a carrier, or its agent, to the shipper as a contract of carriage of goods. It is also a receipt for cargo accepted for transportation and must be presented for delivery at the destination.
C&F (Cost and Freight): A term of sale where the price includes all expenses up to the port of discharge, excluding insurance.
Cancellation of Registration Form: See Export Certificate.
CAP (Car-Arrival-Progress): The vehicle buyer’s personal tracking page on the Linked Motors platform. Once payment is confirmed, access is provided to track shipment progress.
CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight): A term of sale where the price includes insurance and all costs up to the destination port.
City Delivery: A service provided by Linked Motors to transfer the vehicle from the port to a designated city or border.
Clearing Agent: A person or company authorized to handle customs clearance processes.
Commercial Invoice: A document required by customs to determine the value for duties and taxes.
Consignee: The person who becomes the owner of the vehicle in the destination country.
Deregistration Certificate: See Export Certificate.
DHL Delivery Address: Address used by Linked Motors to send shipping documents (not the vehicle).
EAA: East Africa Automobile Services – pre-export inspection authority.
ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival): Expected arrival date/time of shipment.
ETD (Estimated Time of Departure): Expected departure date/time of shipment.
Export Certificate: Confirms the vehicle is legally exported and deregistered in Japan.
Export Permit: Issued by Japanese Customs confirming export compliance.
FOB (Free on Board):
Price of the vehicle itself
Includes all charges up to loading onto the vessel
Forwarding Agent: Handles transportation from port to the destination country.
Import Permit: Government-issued permission to import goods (required in some countries).
