Australia Import Rules & Regulations

1. Apply Import Approval by Your Customer

Your customer must obtain an Import Approval in Australia to import vehicles. Please confirm with your customer before shipping.
*Depending on the vehicle model, some vehicles may not be eligible for import into Australia. Always verify this with your customer before proceeding.

2. Submission of Non-use Declaration of Asbestos

A Non-use Declaration of Asbestos must be submitted to the required Australian government department before shipment.

3. De-gas (Air Conditioning Gas Removal)

Generally, all vehicles imported into Australia require removal of air-conditioning gas. Please confirm whether de-gassing must be completed in Japan before shipping. Customers holding a valid licence may perform de-gassing in Australia.

4. DAFF / DAWR Inspection

Vehicles are subject to DAFF/DAWR quarantine inspection. In case of inspection failure, the vehicle will not be loaded onto the vessel.
*Heat treatment is required for all vehicles between September to April. (Containerized shipments do not require heat treatment.)
